Marc By Marc, Don't Toy with My Heart My Heart.

My Current fashion Crush? ... The spring/summer 2009 Marc By Marc Jacobs collection. Everything in the line is so fun, young, cute, and fresh. By using lots of pattern, pale colours, and preppy looks and concepts, this collection is for sure one of this spring seasons best. Obviously, we all love Marc, and everything he does is genius, but this season he just hit a sweet spot.

Ok... HISTORY, HISTORY!
- Jacobs attended the High School of Art and Design in New York City and graduated in 1981. He lived in Teaneck, New Jersey, with his mother, sister and younger brother, and attended Teaneck High School. At fifteen, Jacobs worked as a stockboy at Charivari, an avant-garde clothing boutique in New York City From there, Jacobs entered the Parsons School of Design in New York City.

- While still at Parsons, Jacobs designed and sold his first line of hand-knit sweaters. He designed his first collection for Reuben Thomas, Inc., under the Sketchbook label. Following his studies at Parsons, Jacobs began to design at Parry Ellis (Ellis had recently died, so he wasn't there). Jacobs became prominent on the fashion scene when he designed a "grunge" collection for Perry Ellis, leading to his dismissal in 1993.
(Thank you Wikipedia!)

Currently, Marc Jacobs is taking the fashion world by storm, and is at the top of the designer most wanted list. Might I add that he is looking smokin' lately?

Our Marc did good!

W-W-WATCH IT!

"Hey Joe.... You are looking Fresh."

If you didn't already know, Joe Fresh is totally the hot spot for trendy and affordable clothing. Even though the line is sold at Superstore, Loblaw's, and other grocery stores, its totally worth going in a having a look.
Some history you ask?
-Joseph Mimran, and Alfred Sung, both founded Club Monaco, which has become one of the top retailers in North America, and now owned by Polo Ralph Lauren.
-After leaving Club, Joseph (Joe) decided to start a more affordable brand of clothing that had the same fit and feel as his beloved Club Monaco.
-He decided too sell his products in superstores to make it more convenient for shoppers.
-Currently, Joe Fresh is sold across Canada, and is now showing in Toronto Fashion Week.

Good deals, cute styles, and fresh looks are what you will hopefully find with Joe Fresh.
I have had good luck, hopefully you will too!!

SHE MAY BE PLASTIC BUT BARBIE'S GYMNASTIC

"I'll show you who's boss Kate Moss" is one of many creative and interesting saying from the fun line of graphic tee's from designer Henry Holland. Born in England, he created the clothing line, House of Holland. After being featured in Teen Vogue last year, Holland is making a bold name for himself,  Currently showing at London Fashion Week, and selling his 80's inspired t-shirts at exclusive boutiques. Henry's personality and creative ideas have made him an industry favorite.
In the spring, Levi's with debut its denim line collaboration with Henry, which I am so looking forward to seeing.... oh and buying. of course.

Bazaar: the new Vogue?

We all love Vogue Magazine, its a staple in the fashion industry, and we can always rely on it for the latest in fashion... or can we? Lately, I have been noticing that Harper's Bazaar has been slowly working its way up and now slowly surpassing little old vogue. Heres a little history:

Vogue: been around since 1892, and currently Anna Wintour (might add, very scary lady..) is editor-in-chief.

Bazaar: been around since 1867, and currently Glenda Bailey is editor-in-chief.

Is Vogue running out of ideas, and have they relied on their legacy for too long? is Wintour being a tired old lady?

Is Bazaar's new burst of energy here to stay? And will it knock out little old Vogue out of it's way?

I want to figure it out, and it will be exciting to see. If you have not caught on to Bazaar yet, give it a try, I was nervous at first, but now we are in a loving, and happy relationship.

Lady Gaga...... trendy or over done?

Okay, we all know who Lady Gaga is by now right? well if you have been living under a rock, she is at the top of the pop world right now. with Just Dance, and Poker Face stuck in our heads till the end of time, interesting music videos, and oh ya, her fashion choices. I like that she is taking huge risks, and I love what she is doing, but aren't we all starting too think... enough already? I don't know about you, but I would like to see her looking like a human for once, and become relatable sometimes.. oh and wear pants more. I am not saying i hate her, because i so don't, i am just feeling a little sick.
but hey, you be the judge.

Leggings on Men?

Well yes, its true... even if you feel awkward about it, it is an interesting trend from cutting edge males. after being introduced by Italian clothing company Marni, the bold have been rocking them ever since. usually worn with blazers or cardigans, as well as low-cut boots. of course this trend isn't for all males, but who knows, maybe this time next year it will be the next it thing for those stylish and daring males that don't just live in Europe.... I have too say, kind of enjoy them!
